Keeping Our Roots Alive: Ethiopian Language, Literacy, and Cultural Programs

For many in the diaspora, maintaining a connection to Ethiopia’s rich heritage is both a challenge and a priority. At ECEC, our Ethiopian Language, Literacy, and Cultural Program provides a space where children and adults alike can learn Amharic and other local languages, while also exploring cultural traditions.

Through workshops, storytelling, music, and art, families engage with heritage that might otherwise fade in a fast-paced world. Parents take pride in seeing their children embrace their identity, while the younger generation finds confidence in balancing Ethiopian traditions with life in the United States.
